Can Hillary Be Saved?

Hillary Clinton says she isn't dropping out because there are still six states that haven't had their Democratic primary. Barack Obama is favored in Oregon, Montana, and South Dakota. Hillary is favored in the state of denial.

So there were a few more primaries this week, Hillary Clinton snagged Indiana, while Barack Obama won North Carolina- hope I'm not forgetting a state. And guess what, the whole race between the two are still going on! As Charlie Brown would say, "Good Grief!" I mean honestly, we have two weeks until the next Indiana Jones movie, but still no Democrat to grab their party's nomination. You know, we're going to have the winners of Dancing with the Stars and American Idol before we have a Democrat nominee, or will we?

You know on Groundhog Day, that little creature should have instead predicted how much longer this thing would go, I mean I think I'm starting to forget the McCain is even out there. And how many posts have I done asking how much longer this thing can go on? I apologize for being redundant but I just what this thing to end.

I going to use my training as a political annalist, not, to claim Barack Obama the winner, and Hillary Clinton forced out by her own campaign team. Now Hillary's all for taking this to the convention, I don't know why seeing how Obama has more Super-delegates, is she really wanting to go that far just to be defeated? Of course, I do believe Super-delegates have the right to choose either candidate, oh the suspense. So, can Hillary be saved?

Will We?

Well she did it. Hillary Clinton won the Pennsylvania primary under sniper…eh much doubt that she would. And with that big win, we have her and Obama still battling it out for the nomination. So now with the Democratic race still going on, all eyes now turn to North Carolina and Indiana.

“After seven long years of President Bush, we've got our work cut out for us, and we don't have a minute to waste. So it's high time we stop talking about our problems and start solving them and that is what my campaign is all about,” said Hillary. Wow, her campaign is about solving problems, what a captivating idea. I mean think about it, she’s not going to talk about our problems but try and solve them…wow! Thank you Captain Clever.

“…because of them, and because of you, this next generation will grow up taking for granted that a woman or an African-American can be the president of the United States of America.” Yes the next generation will grow up knowing that it was a woman or an African American man to receive the Democratic nomination, but I think we all knew it was possible- I did.

“Will we take back the White House and take back our country?” Hmmm, I hadn’t realized that we had lost it. Oh wait, the Democrats lost it when voters went to George W. Bush after the Bill Clinton administration, keeping Al Gore or John Kerry from doing so.

Wherever the road takes us from here hopefully goes down Reality Lane. Sure Barack and Hillary can be the new face of “change”, Barack more than Hillary, but they have to be able to live up to their promises. Now the odds of a politician keeping his or hers promises are…well…unknown to me. Change may be what the majority of America wants, but I certainly hope that these changes will be for the better and not cause even greater problems. In closing Hillary said, “I believe with all of my heart that, together, we will turn promises into action, words will become solutions, hope will become reality. So my answer to any who doubt is: Yes, we will.” Will we?

Keep Going?

Well it’s April 22 and I think we all know what that means. Well if you don’t I’ll remind you that it’s the Pennsylvania Primary. This could be the defining moment that brings the Democratic journey, oh what a journey, to an end or keep it going until the convention. So basically either Hillary will be out, assuming she’s convinced to drop out, or she’ll take after the energizer bunny. Will she keep going?

June Bug?

February 5th, Super Tuesday, was supposed to be the day where we walked away with two presidential candidates for Democratic and Republican parties- we didn't. But now, April 1, we have a nominee to be in John McCain, but none on the Democratic side. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama continue to fight it out, but the question is to how much longer can this go on?

Taking matters into their own hands, some Democratic party members and voters have taken it upon themselves to advise Sen. Clinton to step down, to end this prolonged Democratic race. As Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, an Obama supporter, put it, Sen. Clinton was never going to win enough delegates and he suggests that she should bow out in "the interests of a Democratic victory in November." What was Sen. Clinton's response? Well she likened herself unto none other than Rocky Balboa.

Clinton said that ending her campaign now would be like Rocky only going halfway up those museum steps and saying, "'Well, I guess that's about far enough." Clinton went on to say, "Let me tell you something, when it comes to finishing a fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never quit. I never get up And neither do the American people." She meant "give up". But if not, "get up" would be appropriate, seeing how some Americans don't want to get up and vote for her.

The senator went on to add that the Democrats won't have an easy time going up against the Republicans. Adding that the Republicans were not going to be turning off their attack machine. It's almost as if she thought there was a chance the Republicans would just hand presidency over to her.

April 22 is the date for the next primary in Pennsylvania. From it's all up in the air on whether or the not the Democratic candidates make any headway. If they don't it could mean a loss in November. But until the primaries it looks like we could be looking at a long haul all the way into June. You may have spring fever, now prepare yourself for the June bug.

Sen. Clinton, Really?

Sen. Hillary Clinton, you decided that when speaking on the issue of Foreign Policy you would refer to your trip to Bosnia as the First Lady where you landed under sniper attack, though no actual attack ever took place. Really?

And you shrugged the fictional story off, calling it a "misstatement" and a "minor blip." Really? Do you know what the definition of “blip” is? It means something relatively small or inconsequential within a larger context. So a blip would be saying you were under fire attack in Afghanistan and not in Bosnia.

Did you also not remember that the story you were telling never happened the three times you repeated it? Really?

You didn’t happen to remember the lack of gunfire at the airbase or at any of the airports you had ever visited? Really?

During your “misstatement” you said there was supposed to be greeting ceremony upon your arrival. You said as if it didn’t occur when in fact in was the one thing that did. Really? You didn’t remember the little girl who read you a poem? The same little girl you hugged between your airplane and your motorcade. Not to mention the fact that no one, not even your own daughter remember ever being under attack. Really?

And finally, you say it was sleep deprivation that caused you to come up with this wild tale. Really? And you say that you’re ready to answer the phone at 3 A.M. to protect this country. Really? Does this include looking under all closets and beds for monsters or the boogeyman? Really Sen. Clinton, really?

America's Much Needed Leader

So the March 4 primaries have passed, but it was during the days leading up to thee events that we were introduced to this Hillary Clinton ad.


Alright. On this blog I don't try to write to bash the candidates, what I try to do is focus on the things that are or should be an issue in their campaigns. So in the video above, we are told that we should elect a leader who knows the leaders of the world and knows the military. My question from viewing the video is whether or not Hillary knows the military. Does she know it in the sense that she knows how to be the leader in charge of the military, or is it more she's aware this country has a military? Other than that the choice rests in your hands.

Not long after the video hit the air, Barack Obama's campaign team hit back with this response.

Now did you pick up on anything sort of weird? If I'm understanding this correctly, and by correctly I mean noticing a message other than vote for Obama, this country is supposed to vote for Obama because he had the courage to oppose the war. Well good for him! Obama had the guts to say, "I don't agree with this plan." But how does that keep me safe? This war on terror, this war being fought to eliminate the threat made against this country, is happening to protect the lives of not only the American people but for the people of the world. Of course I can see the sides why the war should end, but I don't think being able to oppose something is a reason to elect someone into office. After all, Obama was outnumbered.
